Avva prepares patients for a focused and relevant discussion with their physician.
Avva is designed to help patients think through their individual concerns ahead of time and come
into a visit with a focused list of questions for the physician. The system does not provide
medical advice to patients and is not intended to replace the interaction between patient and
physician, but rather to complement it.
The system categorizes patients along several dimensions such as treatment type, age,
and pathology characteristics, then uses an algorithm to match the patient to suggested
questions that they may want to ask their physician. This means that patients see suggestions
that are highly relevant to their particular situation rather than a generic list where
many of the questions may not be applicable in their case.
We've worked hard to make sure that Avva is as convenient and helpful for physicians as it is
for patients. Patients simply print out their list of questions and bring it to the visit, so
there's no system to log into for the physician and no disruption to your workflow.
